HIDDEN WORLD PROJECT
A Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative
Human Trafficking Hotline Ontario: 1-833-900-1010
It is about time we break the taboo behind talking about things we do not want to think about, because our ignorance does not make the problem go away, it only adds to it.
I initially founded this project when reading an article written by Kemptville’s very own Paulina Hrebacka. Before then if you asked me anything about human trafficking in our area I would have simply stared at you mouth agape. The same thing goes for almost everyone else I know--that there is the underlying issue, nobody knows.
My intentions are to spread awareness and educate others on how to recognize luring so that they can stay safe. I have spoken with those who work in the field and after speaking with them developed my research. Through awareness, people will be able to better recognize current or possible trafficking situations in not only their lives but the lives of others. The best thing you can do is acknowledge the issue and talk about it. Have the serious conversation with your peers, colleagues, teachers, family and friends. The more people who talk about it, the more attention it gets, the more uncovered and not-so-secret this so called Hidden World becomes.
I am happy to say that H.W.P is slowly growing with the support of my community and the addition of my cousin Kestrel to the Hidden World Project. Kestrel is developing an awareness presentation centred around Domestic Abuse and Intimate Partner Violence (IPV).

H.W.P hosts online events that teach others about human trafficking. These events include Introductory Human Trafficking Presentations as well as Youth Presentations, which are still under development (with a focus on Social Media). You can learn about upcoming events through this website's media or event page. If you wish to learn more about event content you may contact H.W.P by email or Instagram.
UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
The United Nations has designed 17 global goals for 2030. These goals are known as the SDGs and their set purpose is to create more sustainable life for all. These goals tackle economic, social and environmental issues. UNAC has appointed thousands of ambassadors from all over Canada in order to implement initiatives and turn ideas into organizations. These organizations will work solely towards sustainability and harmony. The Hidden World Project is one of these initiatives.
H.W.P is always looking for volunteers. Here there is something for everyone and always work to be done. Whether it is contacting stakeholders, booking venues, organizing presentations, or advertising H.W.P we most certainly have a job for you! You will find our volunteer sign-up form with our contact information and if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask!
